Pro-abortion Vs Anti-abortion
When pregnancy is not good news
Not every pregnancy is good news.
Sometimes, it comes with fear, confusion, and silence.
A woman in an abusive relationship.
A girl who didn’t choose what happened to her.
A woman who knows she is not ready.
A situation where the man wants the child… but she doesn’t.
A young girl who is not ready.
A woman whose health is at risk.
A family that cannot afford another child.
These are not theories. These are real-life situations.
But once the word abortion comes up, everything changes.
The conversation becomes loud.
“Right or wrong.”
“Keep it or remove it.”
But in medicine, it’s not even that simple. Even a miscarriage is called
a spontaneous abortion, not because it was chosen, but because medically, it simply means loss of pregnancy.
But in real life, those two are not the same.
One just happens.
The other is a decision.
And both can leave something behind.
As a nursing student, you begin to see beyond opinions; you see outcomes.
You see the fear and uncertainty in women’s eyes
You see what happens when people don’t have safe options.
The complications.
The infections.
The quiet emergencies no one talks about.
Because the truth is, abortion doesn’t stop happening because it is restricted.
It just becomes unsafe.
And unsafe is where the real danger is.
Lives are lost.
Not just pregnant women
This is not just about being right or wrong.
It’s about what happens when someone has no safe place to go.
Some decisions are not made from carelessness.
Sometimes, they are made from fear, pressure, or survival.
And maybe, beyond the arguments and opinions, what people need most is not judgment, but support.
Support for the scared woman.
Support for the one who had no choice.
Support for the one living with the decision she had to make.
Because judging women will not stop abortion.
It will only push them into silence… and sometimes, into danger.
So maybe the question is not just:
“Should it be allowed?”
But also: What kind of society do we want to be?
One that judges. Or one that understands?
What do you think matters more in this conversation, judgment or support?

Thank you for saying this, you see beyond label and bring the attention to reality, where it is really needed. I pray we become a better society.
